September 2007

I was so fascinated by the edging on that last afghan in August that, for the next afghan, I decided to add some blocks that would show the variations possible with that stitch pattern.

Watch this space to see how it turned out!

Meanwhile, I delivered another batch of chemo caps to the Wellness Community, including some in autumn colors - Chocolate and Honey. The coordinating multi-colored yarn was named "Embers," which seems so appropriate for the season, especially SeptEMBER. [yeah, yeah, groan....]

I included the two deep purple ones (they look blue in the photo), because the first two I did in that color were immediate hits.  I hope these two go as quickly, now that the weather is turning delightfully cooler. The big funky red carnation turned out to be great fun, though a bit bigger than appropriate for most hats.

With the cooler weather coming on (and some great sales at local yarn purveyors), I finally tried out a pattern for a hat and scarf that uses a really large hook and super bulky yarn. This set worked up really fast!

And I enjoyed a wonderful Mini-Retreat on "Abundance and Letting Go" - autumn topics, both. I was able to share an abundance of preemie caps and let them go, by inviting the other participants to take one. Those of you with sharp eyes may recognize the yarns from previous pictures!  I used up a lot of scraps on this batch (for a total of at least 100 "Happy Hats" since January).
