Another afghan is ready from the Stitch'n Bitch group's blocks. This
one was much easier to assemble, as the blocks were all from the same
yarn, crocheted by the same person. The hard part was finding the right
combination of color, yarn weight, and hook size to give a pleasing
border that did not overwhelm the gorgeous jewel tones of the blocks.
The day I brought this afghan to show the group, the person who made
the blocks was also there, so I was pleased to be able to show her how
it turned out. This afghan was donated to the local Project Linus chapter for distribution to children through local hospitals, social service agencies, and shelters.

Again, the photos do not capture the true depth and richness of the
yarn. The edging forms a ruffle, seen here in close up. Yes, that's my
foot for scale - and because I love to show off my funky toenail
polish. But that's a whole 'nother story.

Oh, yes, one more chemo cap dropped off at the Wellness Community when
I stopped by with my folks when they were visiting - another deep purple one with ribbons
through the brim, in case the earlier one was too small for the lady who had fallen in love with it.
The next set of afghan blocks, also by the same person, didn't have as many
squares of the same yarn, so I used a much wider border to make a big
enough blanket. The finished afghan was also donated through Project
Linus.

A lot is lost between seeing this one in person and looking at these
photos! Here's a closer look at the border. I thought this edging in
autumn colors looked a little like leaves fallen on the grass.
