This web site provides information about the Tangletown Neighborhood Association. We are residents of a neighborhood in southwest Minneapolis, in the state of Minnesota. We are located in southwest Minneapolis, between Lyndale Avenue South and Interstate 35W, and between 46th St and 54th (Diamond Lake). The Tangletown Neighborhood Association Board meets at Fuller Park on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.

Sept 5, 2005: TNA looking for a Community Coordinator

TANGLETOWN NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION (TNA)
COMMUNITY COORDINATOR


I. General Description:
The role of the Community Coordinator is to serve as the principal coordinator for the Tangletown Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Revitalization Program (TNA/NRP.) The Coordinator shall serve as a resource and support person to the Tangletown Board, its committees, the TNA NRP Implementation Oversight Committee (IOC), volunteers, and community members, and shall perform the necessary duties to ensure the efficient functioning and performance of the TNA NRP Implementation Plan.

II. Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Community Coordinator will include, but are not limited to:
• Assist in the development of the Phase II Action Plan.
• Provide staff support to the TNA NRP Implementation Oversight Committee to enable
the successful implementation of the NRP Action Plan.
• Assist TNA/NRP with implementation actions in conformance to the NRP participation
agreements.
• Monitor the approved NRP Plan and make recommendations for any modifications that may become necessary or desirable based on changing circumstances.
• Act as a liaison between the TNA/NRP and the community, city council, government
bodies and agencies, and the private sector.
• Recruit and provide orientation for new volunteers.
• Assist TNA/NRP committees with preparing and conducting their meetings.
• Encourage and develop partnership opportunities identified in the NRP plan.
• Assist in developing strategies for maximum leverage of NRP funds.
• Prepare informational articles for the TNA Newsletter, website, and neighborhood
mailings.
• Prepare news releases for distribution to local press and others.
• Prepare papers and documents in connection with the daily business of the
organization.
• Assist in providing timely distribution of minutes, reports, agendas, and meeting
materials.

III. Position Requirements:
• Community neighborhood organizing experience.
• Prior experience with NRP and city departments.
• Ability to responsibly plan, manage and monitor assigned fiscal resources.
• Ability to administer city, state and federal policies, procedures and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to promote positive public relations within the community.
• Possess a high degree of initiative – a self-starter.
• Grant writing experience desired.
