Harriet
	Vane's arms

Oh the year was 1932 (How I wish I was in London now)
When a bloody great corpse I chanced to see,
Became involved immediately,
God damn them all, I did say
This would be a carefree holiday
I'd wed no lord, shed no tears
Now I'm a longterm guest at the hotel here,
Alas, the body's disappeared.

The lounge was full of people then (How I wish I was in London now)
The dancers circled round and round,
A frog faced man and a girl be-gowned,
God damn them all...

Victorian they looked to be (How I wish I was in London now)
But well I knew that the very next day,
Those fragile girls would be ready to play,
God damn them all...

They wore masks of another time (How I wish I was in London now)
And both sides knew it was a game,
But still they played on, all the same,
God damn them all...
