ESTA LLOVIENDO!!!!!!
Flip Flop, sunny in the Gorge and
rainy in Baja. "It never rains in the winter in Baja". If I hear that again I'll
scream. The last two weeks have been cloudy with one partial day of sun and
three rainy days. I think I have lost count of the number of rainy days we've
had since the first of January. I glad I am not on vacation, if I was I would be
bumming. Andy losing her tan! Kody's hair is getting wavy and I am on my Mac
again updating this bLog. We heard that Hi-Way One is closed north of La Paz. La
Paz reported two inches of rain in three hours this morning. A friend
(piano-man) stopped by early this morning to say goodbye, he's headed north to
California and hopes to make it haft way north today. Hope he find a nice place
to spend the night in La Paz. La Paz is only 1 1/2 hours from here. We have lost
our satellite signal because the of rain and clouds blocking it. We'll have to
read or write to entertain ourselves. No TV!!!! Wonder if the poker game will
canceled tonight, we're playing outside under the palapa.
Saw three guys from Vela
go out, they were fully powered up for about 15 minutes. They gave a whole new
meaning to "slogging" when they came back to the beach. The sport fishing boats
have been returning early with few flags and a lot of yellow slickers. Our air
temperature is 64 degrees but the rain feels much colder than that. We'll have
to check out the arroyos tomorrow when the rain stops to see if there is any
water running down them. Maybe when the rains stops we can get out for a bike
ride, maybe we'll have clearing winds, maybe the sun will come out. Beats 35
degrees and cloudy, rationalizing, its all relative. 80 sq. ft. that is the size
of our trailer. For what every reason both dogs want to be in the Airstream with
Andy and I. I think they got caught under the trailer when the rains hit and
don't want to run to Kathy's trailer. Hum, I just look at the solar charger,
it's putting out 1/2 an amp. Not bad, still not enough to recharge the
batteries. No problem we're plugged in, we've got power unlike last year when
the power pole next door burned down during a rain storm and we didn't have
power for two days. Oh well the rain sounds nice on the roof. Very calming, a
fireplace would be nice. Wonder how big the pond on Los Barrilies' main street
is getting. Los Barrilies doesn't have any storm drains. When it rains all of
the water collects in the middle of the street eventually spreading to the
sidewalks and reaching the storefronts. The street is the low point in town and
fills with huge pools of water after any rain storms. The street look like the
old west main streets you always see in the movies, a real muddy
mess.
I gotta get a picture of main street this year. They tell me during the
hurricanes and really heavy fall rains the street becomes impassible. When that
happens the locals trench the access roads to the beach to drain the main part
of town. If keeps raining this week I might get see that happen this year. Esta
lloviendo, its raining............
