Kyoto Cherry Blossoms

During the height of Cherry Blossom Season here in Japan, a few of us made a pilgrimage to Kyoto to view some of their spectacular blossoms around its temples & shrines- beautiful!

The walk up some old-fashioned streets in Kyoto to get to Kiyomizu Temple This is the temple! I think it is absolutely beautiful! This gate was recently re-painted and it looks great now Here it is again I liked this shot of the corner of the gate & a bit of the pagoda behind Here is a lion statue in front of the gate Closer on the lion The pagoda and some cherry blossom trees Some cherry blossom trees and the pagoda... back behind there! Hiding pagoda Hiding pagoda 2 This is my favorite shot! I love the trees & the pond & the pagoda- gorgeous! Maybe this is what they were looking at! This is a tree at Kodai Temple Some contrasting trees at Kodai-ji This isn't a cherry blossom tree, but I liked it! Tons of cherry blossoms in the parking lot! Parking Lot Trees 2 This is the Zen Rock Garden at Kodai-ji From this angle, you can just barely see a big budda statue next to Kodai-ji His head through the trees! Another red gate through the trees
