No Richard Shindell.

Yesterday, Caleb was poking around on the website of one of his favorite artists, Richard Shindell.  Mr. Shindell is looking for people to help fund his newest album- for certain amounts of money, you get certain thank you gifts.  It's very much like NPR fundraising.  (For $30,000, he'll paint your house.  For $100, you get CDs, a shirt, a poster, and his recipe for ginger risotto.)

Caleb checked to see where he was playing soon, and saw that he would be at Summerfest in New Bedford today.  New Bedford is rather close, so we ended up heading over there today.  We found the stage where he would be playing, and Caleb was trying to figure out if we should stick around for the eight to nine concert that Mr. Shindell would give.

It turned out that Mr. Shindell had just had surgery for a cut he got on his pinky while cutting wood in Argentina, so he wasn't there.

Still, we had a fun time at the festival.  We got to see a bunch of other acts, and got free admission to the Whaling Museum, which had an amazing collection of textile artifacts.

I even got to work on my Last Day of School sock.
