EureKalc is a freeware in-line calculator for Mac OS X (tested on version 10.4.5).
With EureKalc 2 you can :
type any mathematical expression and get the result
modify previous calculations and execute them again (new in v.2.0)
save your calculations as re-usable scripts (new in v.2.0)
define constants and variables while you are working and use them in your calculations,
define your own functions, with one or more variables,
manage your personal databank(s) of often used constants and functions
work on lists or sequences of numbers , to make repetitive calculations, statistical calculation and vector-calculation (new in v.2.0)
present results as exportable tables (new in v.2.0)
present results as exportable graphs (new in v.2.0)
choose between dot and comma as decimal separator
Version 2 has been completely rewritten , the new “data-drawer” lets you manage more easily your constants and functions, it’s much more stable, previous limitations (for example on variable or function names) have been cancelled, statistical functions have been added, working with lists of numbers is more easy and more powerful, important new features like plotting graphs and exporting data-tables have been added.
EureKalc comes with a set of physical data and a complete 20-page manual in pdf (the manual contains also a one-page “quick-start”, because most of the functionalities are so self-evident that you won’t perhaps have to read the rest of the manual).
Here you see a typical work-session in EureKalc , applied on a physics-problem : finding the orbital speed of a satellite turning around the earth, depending on it’s altitude.

EureKalc is FreeWare. But, of course, I refuse any accountability for whatever you do with it. If your spaceship crashes on the Moon, if your power plant explodes or if your protons begin jerking around your electrons, don’t pass the buck to me. Nevertheless, I will be pleased to receive any comments, suggestions or encouragements about this software. nicohirtt@mac.com
