Not much to tell. We had to be at LaGuardia by
seven to check in for our flight to Miami, and so we woke up at 5:30. Philip
went to check out while I dressed and did the final packing, and then we went
down to leave the Casablanca for the last time.
The city is quiet at that time on a
Sunday morning; even Times Square is deserted, which beggars belief.
Casablanca and Times Square
We
caught a cab without much problem; in fact one hunted us down, stopping beside
us and blowing its horn as we looked down the avenue for another one. The ride
to the airport was uneventful. We went through security with plenty of time to
unbelt and de-shoe ourselves and expose our computers, and got to the gate
almost before anyone else. And our flight left on time (I'm writing this on
board).
Here endeth the New York
Vacation: the first one in three years, and well worth the wait. Expensive
too, but worth every penny.
