I have been roundly berated for not mentioning in our last missive that we are in fact flatting with Duncan and Bronwyn but I kind of presumed everyone knew that this was planned and that you would all gather that this is what happened.
We have been for two explores in Wimbledon common but saw no Wombles on either occasion. The common is a lovely place to sit in the sun and read while your house is being re-piped due to a leak in the central heating!!
We have also seen quite a lot of Duncan and Karen. Firstly we went out to Princes Water-ski Club for a day. It was a very, very, very, very, very cold day and we mainly sat inside by the fire and kept warm while Duncan drove the occasional brave soul for a slalom or a trick. We all had a yummy dinner at M2 one of Duncan and Karen's favourite Pizza and Pasta joints. Duncan and Karen came to see us when they had hired a SmartCar to take them to the Cotswolds. It was so cute!! While they were visiting they parked horizontally across our driveway and because the car was so small only blocked one car. We also all went to Richmond (on a much warmer day) with them and had lunch and a walk along the bank of the Thames and then up through a beautiful park and then back to our flat for a barbecue.
We have also made the grand discovery that it is much cheaper to buy pre-cut oven chips than actual potatoes - which we all find mildly disturbing..........
I have been having fun with rice products and made some rather successful (even if I do say so myself) lemon shortbread from rice flour. I also made turkey stuffed with rice stuffing and rice flour gravy. Yes we have finally found somewhere that stocks rice flour!!!
During this time we managed to visit Hyde Park, the Tate Britain and catch up with Duncan and Karen. We finally managed to move in to our flat in Wimbledon on the 8th of April and discovered we had no bedding and very little in the way of kitchenware. So after a mammoth shopping trip we bought a duvet, sheets, duvet cover, pillows, pillowcases and towels. We put up our Snoopy picture and made our room our own.
