Lakshmi has a B.A. in Theater (Production Design) and Italian from the University of California, Los Angeles. From 2003 – 2004, she had the privilege of studying at the Universita’ di Bologna, Italy. While she was abroad she also had the opportunity to work as a translator for the Cineteca di Bologna where she translated written texts for their annual ‘Officinema’ film festival. In 2005, she completed a summer long internship with the Los Angeles Opera for the costume design department during their fall season. In 1999 she attended CSSSA, a California State Art Program where she studied Film and Video Production at Cal Arts. Lakshmi started her training in classical Piano at the age of six, and has been studying more closely with Joanne Paratore for the past 3 years. She is a lead dancer for the Rangoli Dance Company and has been a production designer, lighting designer, graphic designer and stage manager since 2001. As of 2005, she has been actively involved with the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and is now the coordinator of special events. As of this fall, Lakshmi will be pursuing her Masters degree in Management for the Entertainment Industry at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. |
