The National Romanticism Art Nouveau style is found only in Riga and nowhere else in the world. National Romanticism is not as colorful as the Eclectic style. More natural materials are used, those that can be found locally, such as stone and wood.

Traditional carvings and designs are used in the facades and interiors of the buildings.
Most of these buildings can be found in the Center area of Riga, just outside Riga's Old Town. They were built mostly between the years of 1904 and 1910.
