ALUMNI NEWPORTIAN NEWS
A PUBLICATION OF
NEWPORT HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI & ASSOCIATES
Dear members and friends:
In spite of
the weather, we had a good representation of members at the February 18th,
Sunday afternoon meeting held at the Newport Branch of the Campbell County
Library. Dr. Angie Taylor presented an introduction to classes at the Gateway
Community and Technical College.
It is that
time of the school year when we focus on the scholarship selection process.
Anyone interested in this endeavor should venture into the venue through
participating in NHS Senior Award Night at the Syndicate on Wednesday, May 16th
at 6:30 p.m.
The All
Reunion Dinner will be scheduled for September at the Southgate Community
Center. Plan your reunion around this event and your classmates will be seated
together. It is a great way to experience a class reunion without all the
expense and headaches. Pam Thompson will again be the featured entertainer with
a new show. The price is right at $30.00 each.
Come get
involved and support NHS students as our by-laws dictate, our proceeds go to
scholarship and incentives. The incentives are used to award, honor and implement
the student retention rate.
We have had
an excellent year of support from our members, the officers and committee
chairs. Everyone has put forth so much effort and expertise to make our tasks
easier. Thanks to each and every one of you for the sacrifice you made.
Sincerely,
Marlene Wilmot Gerding, 56
President
Our
next Membership Dinner meeting is May 17, 2007 at the Newport High School
Library at 6:00 PM. Michael Kehoe,
Trust Officer of Citizens Bank will be our guest speaker. See attached reservation form.
