ALUMNI NEWPORTIAN NEWS
A PUBLICATION OF
NEWPORT HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI & ASSOCIATES
VOLUME 15-4 JULY 2005
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU
Belonging to three different organizations in Hamilton County Ohio with over 90 per cent of their members being from Ohio, I have been told that our high school alumni group is "One of the best if not the best, in the greater Cincinnati area." In Northern Kentucky, I have been told, "What wonderful things we are doing for the students of Newport High School." Then I explain to them that we also are working with the Middle School.
The above comments would not have been made without the hard work of the officers, committee chairpersons and their committee members. Many of the committee members have put in long hours to fulfil their accepted responsibilities, especially when preparing the mailings. Their hearts are unselfishly dedicated to all the students. To them I say, as humble as I can muster, a true, meaningful "THANK YOU" from the bottom of my heart.
However, the comments, the hard working officers and committee members would not be there with their talents, without two groups of people that also care about the students. They are the members and the patrons. Without their unselfish giving, the alumni would not exist. To these caring and faithful donors I also say a humble "THANK YOU."
The new officer candidates for the coming years graciously accepted their nominations without hesitation. Our longest business meeting of last year lasted for only an hour and thirty-six minutes. Old faces are returning. But, we will miss the face of Esther Ballard, who, with her timely one-liners, made our meetings more enjoyable. My time is becoming short, so this will be my last message as president. But I can not leave the office without again thanking everyone who has had a hand in making this alumni association the organization that it is receiving and the recognition that is occurring all over the greater Cincinnati area. God Bless All Of You.

INQUIRIES FOR CLASS REUNIONS
At times graduates try to find out if the class is going to have a reunion. Sometimes they call the High School or the Board of Education. These calls are usually referred to the Alumni. If you do not keep us informed of your plans, we can not help the individuals. We are trying to post reunions and get-togethers in the Newsletter. Just let us know and we will list your reunion or get-together in the section with all the other reunions or get-togethers planned.
YOUR CLASS REPS NEED TO REPORT
To provide the information our readers want to know our Class Reps need to provide the information to the editor. Many people inquire why they have no news from their class? The only answer I can give, ÒIf you give me news, I will try to include it in the Newsletter.Ó Most grads not only want to be informed of deceased classmates, but also would like to hear from classmates including information of people they do not often see. Shut-ins would appreciate hearing of your health problems, travel, or other items of interest. Send a card or phone call while they are recuperating. If you have any information you would like to share with your class or friends, contact me direct Stella Bowen, 18 Arbor Drive, Highland Heights, KY 41076 or phone 859-781-5424.
