I need your assistance in managing the database of e-mail addresses of the Association.

A listing of Recent Failed E-Mail Addresses

A listing of Long Standing bad E-Mail Addresses

Please check both of the two links above to see if you can update some of the bad e-mail addresses

Some of our members pass on and their e-mail account goes inactive.

More often, 95% of the time, the individual Ògets fed up with their ISP or moves or (whatever reason) changes to a different ISP and different e-mail address. Some have even given up their computer access. (How could they?)

If they donÕt remember to tell the web master of the new address I get a Òfailed messageÓ from each member every time I send a message on behalf of the form of Error! Contact not defined.. I really donÕt need 30 or so failure messages every time I try to forward information to the Alumni community.

One of the ÒfrustrationsÓ of sending messages to the NHS Alumni Association E-Mail community is receiving ÒFailed DeliveryÓ messages. The database of Alumni currently contains over 500 e-mail addresses. That is a lot of messages to ÒsendÓ with news from or about Alumni or the Association. The number of failure messages is overwhelming at times.

Approximately 20% of the addresses do NOT work for one reason or another at this time. Some probable reasons are:

á      The member has Changed her / his / their e-mail address and NOT sent an announcement to me. This could result from either a physical move of their residence, the process of changing e-mail address to avoid Spam or changing their ISP for any reason;

á      The members have introduced ÒfiltersÓ on their e-mail accounts and are blocking mail from the association ( NHS_Alumni@Mac.COM ) or me ( JWKing@Mac.COM );

á      The member has an ÒoverfullÓ e-mail account and the ISP is blocking further messages;

á      The member has given up on the Internet and canceled their internet access; or

á      The member may have passed on.

Regardless, I receive a lot of Failed Delivery messages each time I send to the NHS Alumni.
