Mobile Blues Club Hamburg (MBC) is a mobile performance
space founded by the Hamburg born artist and musician
Thorsten Fixemer. It combines a bit of retro nostalgia with
the artistic concept of social sculptures which was
introduced by the artist like Joseph Beuys and further
developed by Thomas Hirschhorn and Rikrit Tiravanija. Above
all MBC is a charming meeting place, a Blues club in the
best sense of the word. With the interconnecting sound of
Blues, Ragtime and Bluegrass it fosters artistic encounters
and discourse. With its participation in the Preview art
fair the mobile music club in an old circus trailer plays
with the notion of the international “art
circus”. As a place for contemplation it offers an
appealing counterposition at the same time. The daily live
performances promise old fashioned stationary entertainment
and stand for the search for a different creative form of
expression.
