LILLI &LOLA (Lilli Kuschel und Lola Göller) are creating complex stills and videos, which are influenced by classical paintings. The unique feature of their work is the interweaving of the two mediums. With the help of video the frozen photo tableaux come to life, they are somehow “defrosted”. NIK NOWAK is experimenting at the cross roads of street art, painting and sculpture. His big murals made from tape are temporary installations. At our booth he will create a brand new wall piece. At the same time his installation (Streetblower), a tuned-up ghettoblaster on wheels, is on view at the Neue Berliner Kunstverein (Chausseestrasse 128/129, 10115 Berlin, until 16.10.). This strange sound mix machine is the latest sculptural work of the talented UdK student from the masterclass of Prof. Lothar Baumgarten. JULIEN ROUVROY is currently working on a series of large scale, brilliantly executed paintings which reflect on his childhood in Africa. The Belgium born artist spent part of his life living on the dark continent. His figurative works weave scenes of wilderness and urban settings into disturbing dream scapes. An additional highlight will be the Mobile Blues Club Hamburg (MBC) presented by White Trash Contemporary in colaboration with Preview Berlin. This rolling music club in an old circus trailer will be located next to the main entrance of the fair and will offer visitors daily “old School” entertainment in a cool salon setting. MBC follows the idea of the “social sculpture”, a concept introduced by artists like Joseph Beuys and Rikrit Tiravanija.
