Presentation
A: You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read this Marking Rubric for the Oral Presentation.
B: See below for the Evaluation of Peers rubric

Evaluation of Peers

Each student is marked by the teacher (50%) and 5 classmates (15%). When you mark your classmates, you will follow the presentation rubric and prepare a comment based on the formula

  1. a positive comment
  2. discussion of the presentation's strengths
  3. observations on the presentation's weaknesses
  4. suggestion for improvement of content and/or organization

**Note on "details." When the presenter reads your comment, what elements make it clear that it is his or her unique presentation of this particular topic that you are commenting on?

  • weak- presenter's name: covers "unique presentation" but not "particular topic"
  • better- names of authors, characters; descriptions of scenes, events: covers "particular topic" but not "unique presentation"
  • good- details of author's technique, characters' roles, events' significance, styles' impact:covers both "particular topic" and "unique presentation"

My assessment of the accuracy, insight, and usefulness of your comments will provide the remaining 35% of the oral presentation mark. Important Note: Your commentary must focus on the presentation's content, not on the delivery. I reserve the right to discard any comments that are cruel or inappropriate. You will not receive credit for these.
