Sport Scout Video

This weekend we launched Sport Scout Video.

This weekend was the official launch of Sport Scout Video . The Football Club of Santa Barbara (FCSB ) holds their annual Summer Cup soccer tournament out at the UCSB Campus. This is a soccer tournament where different club teams from all over Southern and a few from Northern California come together and compete for the Summer Cup trophy. This is the biggest tournament of it's kind in this area. Thus, it was a great place to start getting the name and product of Sport Scout seen.

For the most part the weekend went well and we got a very positive response from the parents and coaches. Sport Scout is a digital video service where we tape the athlete's games, an individual interview and then edit them together with graphics and music. The final video is put into DVD format and the student athlete can use this DVD to submit to coaches to try and get a chance for a try out or even gain a scholarship.

Todd Walker and I have been working on this idea for almost a year now and this weekend was where we put it all together and started getting the word out.

We borrowed a tent from a photographer friend of ours Luther Garlock. He is a fine art photographer here in town and this weekend he was not doing any festivals, thus he let us use his tent. I was able to get a digital projector from the Brooks Institute and with this we could project our demo video behind us on the screen at the back of the booth. We also had it running to a small TV on the front table. As a means to draw people to our booth we had a soccer ball free give away, all you had to do was sign up. This will help us build our mailing list.

On Saturday Jennifer and Inge joined us all day in the booth and assisted in talking with parents and coaches.

Lunch Time, would you like fries with that.

Over all the weekend was successful; however, it was long. All day Saturday and Sunday in a booth, talking we wear you out. We were able to talk to many parents and several coaches. Our next step is to go directly to the coaches teams and do some presentations for the athletes. Through this weekend we were able to make these contacts and we'll move forward.

By the way the soccer action was great and with over 70 teams at the tournament the players and coaches had a long weekend too.

This match was taking place right behind our booth.
