3D Dark Ride Tileset Screenshots
Below are screenshots from some of the different tilesets available in the 3D Dark Ride engine. Rooms are constructed from tilesets containing walls, floors, ceilings, corners, doors, and other room features like columns.
Cavern Tileset

Castle Tileset

These rooms are nine tiles wide by nine tiles long, including the perimeter tiles for building the walls and door. Each interior space is either 'clear' or has a column in it. Columns may be rotated in steps of ninety degrees to achieve a different look for each one.
To save download time and texture RAM space, very few textures are being used. The textures were designed to give a similar cartoony feel that works so well in the other places (see other 'BrigaDOOM' interactives for samples).
The somber light effects were achieved by cranking up the attenuation falloff of point lights placed in the corners, and then flooding the room with an ambient blue light. (In-game, the lights are actually darker - these photos were level-adjusted to bring out some of the detail.)
