2006 Madame Sarita's Spirit Parlour Script
This is the script we used for Carnival of Souls 2006. It's very close to the final script, although at the last minute, we added an brief scene with the audience favorites from previous years, the floating skull spirits named Gunther and Durgan. If I can find the final script, I will add that scene to the script. Anyway, without further ado, here's the 2006 Spirit Parlour script:
Hi, everyone. Welcome to Madame Sarita's Spirit Parlour. I am Madame Sarita, spirit medium and ghost talker, and I've asked you here to help me with a very important task.
How many of you remember Sarah Beaumont from last year? Well, for those of you who don't know, she's a friend of mine, a ghost from the wild west days, and she's been contacting me during my trances. She needs our help! Will you help me contact her tonight?
Great! Let's get started!
Ghosts and specters of the Carnival of Souls
Come out of your graves, come out of your holes
Skeletons and zombies, please give us a fright
And join in the story of this Halloween night
Spirits from the dark, I now summon you
I send out this call, I deliver it true
Appear before us in your spectral shroud
I give the dead voice, now speak ye, aloud!
Sarita! Thank goodness! I wasn't sure you received my ghostly visions!
What's wrong, Sarah? Why did you contact me?
Oh, Sarita, it's horrible! I have learned that Marius Blackwood is up to no good again, and this time, it's YOU he threatens, not me!
What? What do you mean?
Marius has found a way to break his pact with the Dark Powers of the Earth! He's going to escape back into the mortal world to get revenge on you!
Oh, no!
Marius Blackwood was the evil ringleader of the carnival back in wild west days. He tormented poor Sarah in life, and continues to torment her in death. He made a pact with the Dark Powers of the Earth, and now he's paying the price for it, but every Halloween he tries to break free, and we keep beating him back.
Sounds like he's looking for revenge on me for helping Sarah for so long.
That's right, Sarita. If he breaks free, you and everyone in your parlour will be the first to go.
Sarah, how can we stop him? How is he going to break the pact?
Ha ha ha! Using the Scroll of Aldoleth of course! Muah hah ha haa!
MARIUS!
That's right! This scroll tells how to summon the Dark Powers of the Earth, but by studying it, I've found a loophole I can slip through and escape!
And you two fell right into my trap! Escaping the Dark Powers of the Earth requires me to destroy both a ghost and a mortal at the same time in order to break the dark pact I made with them.
And all I had to do was let slip what I was planning on doing, and like a FOOL, Sarah, you summoned Sarita right to me! Ha ha ha ha ha! Now I've got you right where I want you! Ha ha ha ha ha!
Look out, Sarah!

Foolish gypsy! Did you not learn your lesson last year?

Ah, impressive, gypsy, you've been practicing! But you're still no match for me!

Uh, it is I, Madame Sarita.
WHAT PACT DO YOU SEEK TO MAKE WITH US ON THIS HALLOWEEN NIGHT?
I seek to stop Marius Blackwood from escaping into the mortal world.
DONE. NOW FOR OUR DEMANDS. THIS PLACE IS A WEAK SPOT BETWEEN THE MORTAL WORLD AND THE LANDS OF THE DEAD. YOU, MADAME SARITA, SHALL SERVE AS GUARDIAN, ENSURING THAT NONE OF OUR... PLAYTHINGS... ESCAPE FROM OUR CLUTCHES.
No, Sarita, you mustn't!
How long must I do this?
INSOLENT MORTAL! DO YOU NOT KNOW WITH WHOM YOU BARTER? YOU MUST DO THIS FOR LIFE! YOU SHALL SERVE AS GUARDIAN UNTIL THE DAY YOU DIE! DO YOU ACCEPT THE PACT, OR SHALL I UNLEASH MARIUS UPON THESE MORTALS RIGHT NOW?
Sarita, no!
I have no choice, Sarah. I accept.
IT IS DONE. YOU ARE NOW OUR SERVANT UNTIL THE DAY YOU DIE. BREAK NOT THE PACT, FOR YOUR SOUL IS FORFEIT SHOULD YOU TRY. AND DO NOT SUMMON US AGAIN, GYPSY - WE SHALL NOT BE SO GENEROUS NEXT TIME!
Ha ha ha ha ha. Well, you've stopped me again this year, Sarita, but it came at a terrible price, didn't it? And you won't be able to call your little friends again NEXT year. One of these Halloweens, your luck will run out, and I'll be free! And then it will be YOU who must suffer the wrath of the Dark Powers. Ha ha ha ha ha!
COME, PLAYTHING! WE HAVE A SCORE TO SETTLE!
Sarita, what have you done?
It was the only way, Sarah. Besides, it's not so bad, really. I had already dedicated my life to acting as a guardian between this world and yours. I don't need some dark force to tell me to do that.

The dark powers granted me some of their power so I can act as their guardian. I can feel it pulsing in my veins. I'm a lot stronger now than I was before. If Marius tries anything next year, he's going to be in for the surprise of his life!
