Here's your one stop to find NeoWayland on the web.
This is my life. I'd like to share part of it with you.
Dancing in the border between light and shadow. Drawn to the rhythm of reconstructed faiths while reaching for life among the stars. Living in a fabricated city and dreaming deep green thoughts tinged with bloodred life. Riding the surge of evolution and change along an unexplored way.
I am a technopagan. I seek the divine in human, nature and machine. My name here reflects that.
Neo
meaning new, sometimes used as a prefix before pagan to describe the modern revival of paganism.
Wayland
was the name a mythical smith who worked wonders at his forge. I've been told that Wayland is also the name of a mystical place halfway between darkness and light.
I want to find the synthesis between mankind and ideas, between faith and technology, between what was and what will be.
My tools are words carried by electrons. The electrons link you, me, and countless others in a living web of information and ideas unrivaled in human history.
Maybe together we can find the forge for a better future.
My mainstream blog, it focuses on politics and freedom from a libertarian perspective. Not much Pagan stuff on this one despite the name. It's my own little dig to remind certain people that you can be a person of faith and interested in politics without lip service to the Big Three. This blog is where I post on the web most of the time. Usually published weekdays with an opinion piece on the weekend.

My Pagan blog, it focuses on American Neopaganism, Modern Adult Pagans, and my own practices. Updated Tuesdays and Thursdays when I can, otherwise irregularly as circumstances permit and the mood strikes.

My no frills blog to cover all the gadgets and gizmos and technology that makes 21st Century life so exciting. Think of it as a messy set of notes that I keep for myself on all sorts of topics. It's really intended for my personal use, but I will explain sometimes as I go along.
My passion is for Macintosh and other Apple products, but I will use others as needed.
If my notes and experiences can help or amuse you, so much the better.

I'm a guy living in Arizona with a couple of Macintosh computers. I'm also a fairly private person. If you twist my arm I'll admit to being a Capricorn. Twist it harder and I will admit to being born in the 1960s.
I happen to be a Pagan. That offends some people. I'm not exactly "in the broom closet," but I don't look all that unusual either. Chances are if you saw me, you wouldn't think I was all that different.
Even though I am a Pagan, I'm not a progressive. Just as I don't believe it's a government's job to provide religion, I don't believe it's government's job to provide economic control either. I am a big believer in live and let live.
I'm also a philosopher, a libertarian, a writer, and a former Corporate Clone. I'm a naturist heterosexual male. I'm not fond of rap or some country and western music, but I'll listen to almost anything else. So you see there are plenty of things we can talk about. I'll make you a promise, I'll try not to take offense at what you say if you do the same with me.
After you talked to me, you probably would think I'm pretty different. (grins)
I'll talk about almost anything. I'm always interested in a good discussion. I'm even more interested in people. How they think. What they feel. How they see the world. Some of my best friends are people.
But I'd rather not be lectured to. How can I violate the rules of your religion when I don't follow it? How can your politics be the only realistic choice if at least half the population doesn't choose it? If you find that hard to deal with, maybe you should find another website to visit. And please save yourself the trouble of writing me to tell me what is wrong with my beliefs.
I've already found my path. Please don't try to force me onto yours.
I am a writer, most of the things I have written professionally have been for in-house corporate publications. So far, I have only one article published professionally under the NeoWayland byline. It is available in two versions.
Harassment: Avoidance & Confrontation The edited version. It was NOT edited by the folks at PagaNet News. Yes, I know the top byline says someone else, but that is my article. The dead tree edition has my name. Scroll down to the bottom.
A Pagan looks at "Christian America" Once again, news stories about meeting prayers and the Ten Commandments are making the rounds. Here's what a real Pagan thinks.
Competition Competition breeds progress and encourages honesty
Spells for Democracy? Isaac Bonewits is calling for spells to change the outcome of the Senate vote on judicial filibusters.
Freedom of speech Some people want freedom without accepting responsibility
Why I MARGINALLY prefer conservatives over liberals Given a choice, I'd rather not deal the fanatic versions of either. There really should be more libertarians in the world, but I can't force that choice on any one.
Who decides? Does the common good come at the expense of the individual?
And justice for all? What does the call for a "progressive judge" on the United States Supreme Court really mean?
