The Cloesti game has had quite a history. It started as the creation of Alan Wasserman, who was the game master for the first story. The story had a definite beginning, middle, and grand finale, and was a complete story.
But the game had been so much fun that Ron Hay decided to make a sequel. He got together with Alan in the early planning stages to get as much background as Alan could provide about the Cloesti history and culture, and what Alan didn't have, Ron filled in. This new story would take place at the same time as the events in the previous game. Everyone was thrilled by the chance to play in the Cloesti game again, and we added some new players at this time. Alan was particularly thrilled, as this provided him with the opportunity to do what many GMs wish for, but few get to do; to be a player in his own campaign creation.
Now that Ron's game is finished, Alan is taking back the GMs seat. In this third Cloesti game, the characters of the first game meet the characters of the second game. So far we have just played the prologue to that game, and the Cloesti now confront a new enemy; the Drow.
The Cloesti games are what inspired me to create these role-playing pages. At the end of the first game, we looked back and saw what a great story we had all weaved together, but regretted that no one had chronicled it. Determined not to let that happen again, the GM sent out e-mail summaries after each game. I created these web pages and archived those summaries. Soon, the players wrote stories to complement the summaries, and the whole story was well on it's way to being written and archived.
When we started the third story, I decided to split this page into three parts. The first part was not diligently chronicled, so I have very little material for that. The second part was very diligently chronicled, so there is lot's of story there. Now we are nearing the end of the third part, I look back and see that we have created a lot of story there too.
So please, select one of the books at the top and read all about the Cloesti Campaign.
Oh, and one more thing. The Cloesti campaign is linked to the Gemquesters campaign, and the two gaming groups join together for special gaming events. That campaign was started by and has a web page maintained by Bill Weber. Have a look at his page.
