Sachiko Sugihara was born in Iwate Prefecture in 1913. She is said to be related to Tono and she is the wife of famous Chiune Sugihara. In 1939, Sachiko Sugihara went to Lithuania with the husband who works for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. When Chiune Sugihara was a Japanese consul in 1940 (in the World War II), he was asked for help by the Jew who escapes the Nazis.
