There are many reasons why Mt. Nebo is my favorite place to fly: It is only 7 minutes from home; The setup area is big and shaded; Restaurants are nearby; A pool is a short walk from launch; the drive from LZ to launch is only about 7 minutes; It's high enough to catch good thermals most of the time; XC routes are plentiful; amateur radio repeaters are abundant and many more reasons. Mt. Nebo hang-gliding site wouldn't exist if it weren't for the kindness of Lonnie Crowl and the Arkansas State Parks. The other land owners are appreciated too but they are not as essential as those two. Mr. Crowl owns all the LZ's nearest the mountain: Racetrack Field, horse field, Chicken Barn Field and Florida Field. The Arkansas State Parks owns all the launches: The original south and east launches on the south end of the mountain and the new NE launch at the visitor center. Thank-You Mr. Crowl and Arkansas State Parks!
