Segway Fest 2003 - Day 1 noon

Enjoy the noon time activities of day one at Segway Fest 2003. Our glide to Lake Michigan was a fun glide for all.

Just before our lunch time glide.
We gather at the front of the convention hall.
The DVD photographer captures the moment.
The steady-cam is smoother than the glide!
I am following Pam in the large building across the street.
Two elevator rides are necessary to get to the top deck.
Here we exit for our first view of Lake Michigan.
A beautiful fountain greets us.
Robert (god1138) is riding dangerously!
Stan is in a much safer position.
We are ready to glide.
Leonard rides safely and wonderfully with the modification.
Stan shows how it can be done.
Most climb off their HT's.
Be careful to not walk into someone else.
We approach the bike and jogging trail.
We line up single file to allow others to pass.
Some want to pass and get ahead of the others.
You can glide to your yacht when you visit Chicago!
We yield to everyone.
Back in single file. The east Mc Cormick Center in the background.
Zooming along at 8 mph.
Do you wish to pass?
This is how every city crossing should look like.
Smooth and easy.
Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum in the background.
We approach the lake side of the Shedd Aquarium.
We begin to line up for the group shot.
I glide on the grass for this photo.
Diners are located at the left windows looking at us.
The Chicago skyline is beautiful from this view.
Everyone is lined up and ready.
Largest indoor aquarium in the world, with more than 8000 aquatic animals.
Just look at those parking fines. Use the Segway HT instead.

We return and duck and cover again.
Room for six in the elevators.
Security checks for the Muslim convention.
The Segway HT is being used for robot applications.
Another angle of the robot.
Computer slides in here.
Leonard controls the robot.
Relay moves the custom painted HT's to their table.
The robot is easily controlled.
Everyone gets a better look.
Wayne encourages everyone to SEG ON.
