Eighth grade U.S. History students study the ideas, issues, and events from colonization up to World War I.

Reading assignments will come from United States History: Independence to 1914.

 

Classroom activities will be drawn from History Alive!, developed by TCI (Teachers' Curriculum Institute).

Students will complete assignments from the following TCI units:

• Geography of America from Past to Present (partially covered)
• Colonial Life and the American Revolution
• The Constitution in a New Nation
• Manifest Destiny in a Growing Nation
• The Civil War and Reconstruction
• The Rise of Industrial America
  

Each unit will last approximately six weeks.
