A 12 by 24 feet piece of astroturf is suspended six feet above the ground that bisects the space. Traveling underneath, a vast network of roots weaves in and out from under this plane. A central opening and a wooden pedestal are in the middle, allowing for a place to climb and perch. Once above and within this “floating carpet”, the viewer realizes that actual grass is growing inside the astroturf. © jeroen nelemans
