Julia Willebrand is an activist, an educator, a mother and
a life long resident of New York City.

Julia Willebrand was born in Brooklyn. She has been an anti-war, peace and eductation activist. For the past decade she has worked with community and environmental groups including West Together and the Sierra Club. She was chair of Manhattan Citizen's Solid Waste Advisory Board, on the committee of the Citywide Recycling Advisory Board, and is the Conservation Chair of the Appalachian Mountain Club.
Julia Willebrand, a graduate of City College, has a doctorate from Teachers College Columbia University. She has been active in public education as: a public school teacher ( P.S. 84); parent of two public school graduates; an Adult Education and ESL Specialist for the Welfare Education program; a professor at City University and a Fulbright Professor in Hungary.
