The weekly lessons of the FSU Ballroom Dance Club will resume in Summer 2008 at the Student Services Building (SSB) Rm. 203 starting Sunday, June1, The SSB Rm. 203 has been reserved for June 8 and July 1 while State Ballroom had been reserved for on June 29, July 20, and July 27. CONDOLENCES
Our dear friend and USABDA President , Bobbie Thomson, passed away on Wednesday, May, 17, 2006, from complications following knee surgery. On behalf of the Board of Directors and Members of Talllahassee Chapter 610, we salute our leader and friend Bobbie Thomson.
LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Members,
I am so honored to have been elected to be your president. I would like to extend
an invitation to all that I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting to please
approach me. I try to introduce myself and talk to as many as possible between
dancing. So, if I have missed you please let me know who you are.
We have been seeing a steady increase in attendance at our monthly dances. January
we had 150; February there was 143. We had 11 new members join our organization
at the February dance which is a record. I would like to welcome the following:
Scott Augustine, Brenda Austin, Phala Bernhardt, Julia and Phillip Cooper, Lacey
Moore, Phillip and Kelly Pullam, Joan and Seymour Rosen, and Delores Weldon
We have had several members volunteer to head up the following committees: Brenda
Austin is going to be Publicity Chairperson. Barbara “BJ” Gossett
is taking over as Membership Chairperson. Michael Webb is going to coordinate
the newsletter along with Jane Poole, Lewis Spears, Carolyn Spears and the Minuteman
Press (Jeannene and Scott Kennedy). Please welcome our new committee members.
We still have several areas we could use more help so, if you are so inclined
to get more involved with this great organization, please let me know. “Many
hands make for light work.” Speaking of many hands, I would also like
to express our thanks for those who help with the clean up after each dance,
please know that you are greatly appreciated.
I will continue handling the organization’s email (usabda610@yahoo.com)
in an effort to keep everyone as informed as possible of any dancing venue.
If you happen to know of any dancing events please email the information and
I will be happy to send it out.
