Letter to the Compton, California, Kiwanis Club:

Time seems to go faster over here than at home. That is - time for me seems such, but to the citizens of India time has no significance. A familiar term is "It will be done in due course," or "the Government has not yet sanctioned the Scheme."

Anyway in spite or because of this I am very busy. By this time next month I will have travelled in nearly every part of India including Kashmir.

My work is exceedingly interesting. I am acting as an advisor to the Directors and Principals of several veterinary colleges. There are four colleges in our Region which covers four North East India States, namely Assam, Bengal, Bihar, and Orissa. In addition to work with these State Colleges I have been asked to participate in the All-India Poultry Conference at Hydrabad in central India which will be held next week. I served a two weeks tour of duty for Ohio State University at Punjab Veterinary College in North India during October.

The first Poultry Science Department in a Veterinary College in India was organized through my efforts at Assam Veterinary Colege. We now have practical poulty production in progress.

Among the animals I have treated are camels and elephants. Dr. Wood riding a camel.
