Doc Wood with bee-keeping equipment Psychology has an important part to play in the management of honey bees.

Feeling secure and well-protected plays a big part in handling honey bees.

The beekeeper who has protective light color ventilated working attire and a calm attitude knows that careful handling of honey bees is highly in his favor.

The experienced beekeeper works calmly with his bees, avoiding any disturbing action.

A small amount of smoke at the beginning of handling the hive will do a lot to calm the defensive honey bees.

A bonding is established between the apiarist and his bee colonies.
