A War Memoir - by John C. Ausland


I just found this piece from John C. Ausland, who passed away on May 13, 1996, on the web. It is a very intense description of World War II. Mr. Ausland also helped liberating my hometown Ellwangen.

John Ausland served in the 29th Field Artillery Battalion of the U.S. 4th Division during World War II. While serving in the 4th Division he landed at Normandy on D-Day and saw action throughout the remaining part of the war with Germany. He has written a book about his time with the 4th Division and has graciously made that book available here .
