The Great Raid



"The Great Raid" is a movie which claims to be "inspired by true events". To me, just another WWII movie which can't live up to BOB. The movie is emotional and tries to be very authentic but focuses not enough on the actual role of the Philippine fighters during and after the raid. No doubt, the actual raid is intense and more than just a war scene; but overall the movie with its 2 hours and 12 minutes feel sometimes lengthy. "The Great Raid" covers a a chapter of America's war history, which is full of tragedy and heroism. Director John Dahl shows both sides of this story and created a good movie, which I recommend.
