Welcome to the First Class Gradebook homepage.
This (formerly commercial) grade management package has been recently updated and re-released as a freeware program. The commercial version of the program has been used by hundreds of teachers for several years. This freeware version includes all the features of the commercial program, plus a few more (all users of the commercial product are encouraged to upgrade to this version).
June 16, 2001 update
FCGB is now available for both Macintosh and Windows computers! Note, however, that the Windows version is actually the last commercial release (from May 1995)--it has not been updated in any way. This means it expects a serial number when you install it, and it doesn't have quite the same look as the Macintosh version. Also note that the Windows version has not been tested with any version of Windows later than Windows 95. If you are running Windows 98 or later, this program may not work for you.

First Class Gradebook for Macintosh revision history
If you encounter corruption of any of the documentation files (the primary symptom of corruption is Acrobat Reader asks you for a password to view the file--they are not password protected), this is a known "side-effect" of StuffIt Expander. I recommend that you use StuffIt Expander 5.1.2 or later. Also, be sure that the "Convert text files to Macintosh format" option (under the Cross Platform icon) is set to "Never."
