Description:

Dubnium is an element found in group 5 and period 7 on the Periodic
Table of Chemical Elements. Dubnium has 3 other names: Unnilpentium(Unp), Joliotium(JL), Hahnium(Ha). Dubnium is an artificial and synthetic element. It is also a solid metal. Dubnium has no specific shape or color. Although scientists believe that Dubnium is probably a metallic, silvery white, or grayish color.
Dubnium is a man made element and so it has no use of any kind and cannot be found anywhere in our environment today.
Dubnium has a very interesting history. In 1970 Dubnium was found by Albert Ghiorso. Although in the World Book Millennium 2000 encyclopedia they claim that scientists at Joint Institute for Nuclear Research discovered Dubnium. The scientist also claim that they produced the element. Dubnium was discovered in Dubna, Russia or Dubna,USSR. Although in an encyclopedia that I found state that Dubnium was also found in the Univ. of California at Berkeley by Albert Ghiorso.  Dubnium got its name from Dubna, a Russian City, where the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is located at. This is the interesting history of Dubnium.
