Mykonos - Ancient Delos

The second day of the cruise we docked in a port at Mykonos… Nat and I decided to do a trip to Delos which is an ancient city that was buried for thousands of years and is now being excavated… Apparently it was the birth place of Apollo the God of the Sun… Anyway there are excavation sites here that date back to 2500 BC… Most of the stuff we saw however dated back to like 600 BC… They had sewer systems, and they had a water collection and storage system… The guide we had was extremely detailed I figured she had a masters in classic greek history. However it turns out that to be a tour guide in Greece you must attend a 2.5 year program… So I guess that’s better than a masters…

After a very fun wavy ride back to Mykonos we went and explored the city… There were tones of shops and restaurants and it was a maze of craziness… We were told by our guide that this is what ancient Delos would have looked like back in the day…

Today at Dinner we got a new set of people at our table… They’re brother and sister, single parents… Her name is Cheryl and his name might be Bill? He eats two of everything… Two appetizers, two salads, two main courses, and two deserts… Surprisingly he weighs less than 400 Lbs…
