Istanbul - Blue Mosque

Istanbul… On day 6 we were still in Istanbul. Istanbul is right on the border of Europe and Asia with a River running down the middle… So our bus took us to the Asian side if only so that we could say we’ve been to Asia…

Then we went to the Blue Mosque it was very cool… It is grey on the outside but inside it is covered with blue tiles hence its name…

Next we went to Hagia Sophia which was a church at one point but when the Ottomans came to Istanbul they converted it into a mosque.

We had to pass everything through a metal detector and they confiscated my mini tripod for my camera… It turns out the light level was quite low and it would have been nice to have to take pictures inside. Anyway when I got the tripod back I was told that I could have brought it in if I paid the professional photographers ticket price… I snuck back in and took a picture with the tripod… However it didn’t turn out that well..
