Cardinal Eggs in nest

Every fall, after the leaves fall from the trees, I notice a few birds nests around the yard. Some springs I notice robin's nests (they seem to be the most conspicuous nest builders) even with the leaves providing camouflage. This spring I stumbled up a cardinal's nest even though it was hidden very well.

It's located on the edge of the woods in a Hawthorn tree. It's deep in a tangle of branches and thorns - a good place for a nest!

It was tricky to get the picture of the three eggs above because of all the thorns.
