Pam’s Grotto
April 3, 2004
We made it back to camp around 4, and while
everyone else either rested or started making preparations for
dinner, I grabbed my camera backpack and struck out for Pam's
Grotto and Falls, only half a mile away. I've got to say
another big thank you to Tim Ernst for publishing directions to
this place in his Arkansas
Waterfalls guidebook. The
towering bluffs and the grotto with its house-sized boulders
and waterfall were really outstanding, and I've seen enough
great places recently that I'm not easily impressed.
I made it back to camp around 6:30 to find
a fine supper of steak, baked potatoes and corn-on-the-cob
waiting for me. Roughing it is great!
Stacey had met some fellow geocachers down
at Haw Creek Falls earlier in the day, and when I realized they
were camped next to us I went over to say hi. Wayne and Melody
go by the Geocaching name Gaddiel and OrangeDanish, and I have
seen their name countless times on the web site since they've
visited may of the same geocaches we either have found or plan
to visit.
