A Thousand Waterfalls

I now realize there must be thousands of
waterfalls in the Ozarks, especially in the under-twenty-foot
category like I found so many of this weekend. After a big rain
like we had last night and this morning you can take a hike
down almost any old jeep road in the mountains and expect to
find small cascades and waterfalls tumbling down the water
courses. Find a larger stream and follow it up or down the hill
and no telling what you'll find!
A couple of weeks ago I got to witness a
thundering 60-foot triple waterfall going full blast after a
big rain. At the time I was thinking: This changes everything -
I'll probably not be impressed by the little ones now.
I'm pleased to say that's not the case.
