The US has declared a Public Health Emergency.
In the United States, there are at least 84,933 cases. The CDC is no longer counting new cases. Prior to August 30, 2009, there were 593 lab-confirmed new H1N1 virus deaths. The CDC has reset their counting of new H1N1 deaths.
*There have been a total of at least 2,319 lab-confirmed pandemic H1N1 deaths in the United States.
*Some states are reporting all confirmed flu deaths. Since, there is very little, if any, seasonal flu circulating in most regions of the US, these are assumed to be pandemic flu deaths.
From the CDC:
Percentage of Visits for Influenza-like Illness (ILI) Reported by the U. S. Outpatient Influenza-like Illness Surveillance Network (ILINet), Week National Summary, for the week ending November 14, 2009. Redrawn by billp.
