GreenDreams combines electronic communications and interactive media to give voice to environmental and social issues around our planet. It is our vision that with the right information and tools, many people will take the steps that they can to help restore and protect our natural resources and to reclaim our right to a healthy planet and a healthy future.

GreenDreams began in July of 1998 when Monika Marcovici left her career in purely corporate internet production to found GreenDreams Productions, with the goal of creating internet, CD-ROM and DVD projects to raise awareness about environmental issues.

GreenDreams Productions is currently producing an interactive virtual tour of the Great Bear Rainforest, in association with Ian McAllister, the Raincoast Conservation Society and Greenpeace International.

A few words from Betty Krawzcyk, GreenDreams' great source of inspiration...

"As our natural resources are under accelerating economic pressure around the world, which in turn results in the ever increasing physical degradation of all life forms including our own, the body politic must begin to look at business practices with a careful and discerning eye. For what is the measure of progress if while possessing fine homes, cars, clothes, vacations, one can't drink the water, breathe the air, or find any connection to the natural world?"

"Technology and nature must conjoin if we are to survive spiritually and economically. International logging, mining, oil and gas exploration, and bio-tech companies would have us believe that we must all accept dirty water, trashed forests, genetically altered food and polluted air in order to progress."

"But this is a myth. We don't have to accept any of this. These transnational corporations and the banks who fund them simply find polluting the earth the easiest way to increase their profits. The fact is, it will be local businesses and communities that lead the way to a saner way of life, particularly businesses who make decisions with an eye to the health of the planet."

"...Businesses like GreenDreams have captured a new vision of business: one of trying, with respect and celebration, to promote the natural world instead of beating it to death with greed. As these new visions of business take hold, the old notions of international corporate exploitation as the ultimate business model will have to give way. People everywhere will demand it..." Betty Krawzcyk is a leading spokesperson for individuals' abilities to affect environmental change. A mother of eight, grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother, lifetime writer, politician and environmental and social activist, Betty's/ Ms. Krawzcyk's involvement started with the battle against segregated schools, the Civil Rights movement, women's rights, and Viet Nam war.

In the past 5 years, she has become the oldest person ever arrested for blockading logging roads of Clayoquot Sound and the Elaho Valley in British Columbia, Canada.
