What is Lomo?
Lomo (more specifically the LC-A) is a funny little Russian camera.Do you have to use professional grade film to get these results?
No. Heck no. The cheaper the film, the more surreal the results. Some Lomographers swear by Lucky, a Chinese brand (available on-line). I use Fuji and Agfa consumer stock. If you cannot find Agfa locally the Walgreens brand is private label Agfa. Some of my more surreal color palletes are from Konica consumer grade. The only place I've been able to find it locally is at the Dollar General chain. Is Lomography different from photography?
Yes. Lomography is a guerrilla style of photography: take your Lomo everywhere, if it looks interesting shoot, don't bother looking in the viewfinder. This style of shooting makes it much more interesting to get film back from processing : ) However, the Lomo police aren't going to come after you if you use a tripod once and awhile. Is Lomography addictive?
There are rumors of a 12-step program being developed. Most Lomophiles move to other Russian cameras after they begin their love affair. After a year with my Lomo I purchased the medium format Holga. What about the Lomo lens?
Ahhhhh. The lens. This is where the magic happens, ladies and gentlemen. Lomo lenses produce the most surreal colors. It is particularly sensitive to red. However, the lens really shines in low light and near blackout conditions. Black skies become shimmering blue.Where can I get a Lomo LC-A?
Ebay usually has a smattering of Lomos daily. If you are looking for a quicker route without the auction fuss, Amazon sells the exact same LC-A package as Lomo.com.Who's that cute, fuzzy little dog on your evidence page?
