Harvard University Art Museums
One of the best entertainment bargains in greater
Boston-- The Fogg, Sackler, and Busch-Reisinger art museums located on the
Harvard University campus in Cambridge.

For the price of one small museum you can visit three terrific museums located on the same block. At the time of my last visit the Adult price was only $9. This is a real deal in the Boston area.
The Fogg and Busch-Reisinger museums are the home for a significant 19th Century European collection, Italian Renaissance collections, Dutch 16th and 17th century collections, modern collections containing the works of Picasso, Pollock, and many others.
The Sackler museum focuses more on the ancient arts of Greece, Rome, Egypt, Asia, and Islamic countries.
My daughter and I spent about the same amount of time at the the Harvard museums as we do at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, but for about one third the price. I was also pleasantly surprised to see so many famous works were housed at the location. I recognized numerous paintings from books and magazines that I have read over the years. Little did I know that they were sitting in Cambridge all this time.
If you plan to make a trip to the campus I strongly recommend that you use public transportation. Parking is sparse in the Harvard Sq area and If found, can be very expensive. The Red-Line train has a stop right in front of the main gates to the Harvard campus and is the most convenient access point. The Museum web site provides detailed directions for reaching the facility through public transport.
