the Federation personnel assigned to Berengaria 7. Spock knows leader
Dr. Martin Anderson from a mission under Pike to set up the colony nine
years earlier. Also on the planet is Spock's Vulcan cousin, Sulik.
Poachers are killing the huge dragons, an endangered species, for their
horns. Guest stars Yeoman Miko Tamura and (briefly) Mr DeSalle.
Written and illustrated by Brian Franczak. b&w comic, pp 12-23. The title
refers the creatures Spock mentions in "This Side of Paradise".

The dragons of Berengaria (Part Two)
Kirk, Anderson and Tamura find an old model, spherical, Starfleet-issue
cargo shuttle. Ambushed by the Andorian rebel Sharav, he explains that
Andorians are unable to be warriors in such a peaceful galaxy, so he
and his four colleagues came to Berengaria to hunt dragons for sport.
Spock captures the other Andorians while Sharav plots an "accident" to
rid himself of Kirk. He uses an electronic "cattle-prod" to ride a
dragon towards Kirk and trample him. Spock stuns Sharav, freeing the
dragon. Sulik suggests that the Andorians might be sentenced to lead
Federation zoological expeditions. Briefly guest stars Lt. Palmer.
b&w comic, pp 28-39. Also contains "Banned from Argo" by Leslie Fish and
Jim Kuzee, pp 50-54, shore leave in verse and b&w comic.
