We posted more video clips than ever in 2006, and there was a lot to select from in compiling a top ten list. The clips are in QuickTime format, and should you have a problem playing them, simply install the latest version of QT [mac] [win]. Here are our choices for the best of the year.


10. The Mel Gibson controversy was a media sensation, but leave it to Jackie Mason to come up with his own unique perspective on the matter. See why he considered the fuss to be little more than Sick, Perverted Pleasure.


9. The Beltway Boys came up with a classic clip. Jim Moran and John Murtha are doing a Q&A, but they must have thought they were working with Alex Trebeck, because Moran insisted That Wasn't in the Form of a Question.


8. When she was on Fox & Friends, E.D. Hill could get worked up. And when she did, you could understand why she said My Blood Is Absolutely Boiling.



7. No matter how serious the day to day news, moments of levity can still be a welcome respite. Sometimes they were intentional, and other times they took everyone by surprise:

• Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy in a Mullet Alert!
• An audience member asks Juliet the Question of the Day.
• A demonstration goes very bad, and Alysin Camerota asks Kiran Chetry: Why Were You Spanking Him?

6. There were many 9/11 rememberances, but the ones from the perspective of reporters on the scene were particularly absorbing. Rick Leventhal recounts his experiences when he wondered: Are We Going to Die in This Truck?


5. Brit Hume has called Shepard Smith "the most talented natural broadcaster" he has ever seen. Shep can roll with the punches, but sometimes he just lets it all out:

• Shep finds a proposed anti-terror measure to be So Weird.
• He takes a few jabs at Bill O'Reilly: I'm Just His Warm-Up Act Anyway.
• Shep takes control of a raucous debate: No, Not Your Program! My Program!

4. Fox's Business Block is full of opinionators, but Wayne Rogers can make the others sound calm and dispassionate. He had his own solution for the most difficult issue of our time: Let 'Em Kill Each Other and Let Them Blow Themselves Up.


3. Julie Banderas did a show-and-tell with Trace Gallagher about a unique gift for the Christmas season. For some reason we can't get enough of watching Julie throw Everybody Under the Bus.


2. When wartime hostilities break out, FNC's coverage is unsurpassed. These dramatic clips show the eloquence, courage, and grace under fire of Fox's reporters on the scene:

• David Lee Miller has to take cover: We Are Gonna Boogie Out of Here.
• Incoming rounds compel Shep Smith and Jennifer Griffin to Get Down!
• Rick Leventhal came under attack, and There Was No Warning.
• Photographer Mal James documents what happens When the Screaming Sirens Start.

1. This is the clip of the year, a now-classic showdown between Julie Banderas and Shirley Phelps-Roper. The video that spiked our hit counter to record peaks: You Think Gay Pride, Bimbo!
