The term "rage" has its origin with man's best friend, the dog. It derives from the Latin "rabies": madness, uncontrolled anger, fury. If you dare to upset a rabid hound, be prepared for the snapping and growling that will inevitably follow.

Our report that deborah of the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed mob) tried to foist off a massive falsehood on her unsuspecting readers has had a similar effect. Someone dared to post a comment to her article pointing out that she was not exactly being truthful in her attempt to smear Greta van Susteren and Fox News. What follows is a classic example of mouth-frothing desperation :

If I missed the mentions of threats beyond the picture of the North Carolina Man, then I will make a retraction.

Now debbie, let's tell the truth, shall we. It was not "mentions" of threats. It was an entire segment about the threats. It included an interview with a journalist who had reported the story of threats to the sister-in-law--the very story that you insisted was not reported. And a retraction? After all the debbie falsehoods we have documented, one retraction under pressure (if it ever comes) is just not very impressive.

Do not come on to my thread and call me a liar so that you can advertise for Johnny $. A mistake is simply a mistake done without malice or intent.

Such a very forgiving standard deborah adopts for herself. But she took a rather different tack when she railed at "a total lie, a blatant lie", uttered in one of the debates. Wow, what happened to "a mistake is simply a mistake"? Obviously it's permissible for deborah to call people liars, but when it comes back on her, the heat in that kitchen gets a little too hot.

Then there was the time debbie said that Steve Doocy "actually lied" on Fox & Friends. Ironically, it was deborah who wasn't telling the truth, putting words in Doocy's mouth that he never said to concoct her "actual lie". And she had no compunction about calling Sean Hannity (and Fox!) "huge liars". And it was deborah who was wrong--again--since Hannity's claim regarding a tape of John Kerry was not only true, but also easily verified.

Johnny Dollar lies about us constantly just like Hannity.

Oh yes, all those transcripts, audio clips, and video clips--they lie constantly. Don't believe your lying eyes, believe the lying newshounds.

He also does not allow us to counter his claims through e mails that he will publish.

We don't? Really, deborah, when did you ever send an email to us to counter any "claims" we made? Name one. And what is stopping you from posting your "counter claims" as a comment here? Unlike your insular little kennel, we don't ban people who disagree.

I am working at my job untl [sic] 4PM ET then I will be able to go home and research the situation and make the necessary changes.

Well then we should have a retraction in short order. We shall see.

Deborah's irrational hissy-fit reflects the panic of a desperate hound who has been cornered. Watch this space. We will update this entry as developments warrant.

Isn't this what you and Johnny Dollar, man of transparency says I have lied about. I guess it's not always a good idea to call someone a liar before looking into it. Now, Tomaig, you have totally alienated me.

Sorry debbie. We never said anything about you lying regarding a mug shot. You claimed:

There was no mention of the continual threats made to Michael Schiavo and his family

False. There was an entire segment devoted to these threats.

Schiavo's sister in law was threatened in front of her home in Philadelphia on Monday....nobody saw that on Fox today.

Sigh. False again. It was reported in depth including an interview with the journalist who reported the story. How exactly does that mug shot turn those lies into the truth? The doggie desperation deepens.

3/39 5:53 pm: Deborah announces the results of her "research", and it is a true newshound classic of piling falsehoods on top of lies:

I stand by my post that there was [sic] no pictures shown of the Phialdelphia [sic] man who threatened Scott Schiavo and his wife from a car in front of their house...

Of course there were "no pictures shown" of the guy. They don't know who he is, he's not in custody, we never claimed they did show pictures of him--so what does this have to do with anything? The dishonesty continues:

...and no discussion of the incident which had been explored on local NPR and local Philly TV where I live. This was was suggested by a reader who called me a liar earlier today.

So what kind of "research" did deborah do? Whatever it was, it turns out to be just as phony as the charges in her article. There obviously was a discussion of the incident, a lengthy one. But the deceptive newspup claims to have done some nonexistent "research" and repeats her lie.

3/30 8:39 pm: Deborah finally acknowledges a sliver of the truth:

Well I'm glad if it's true that I made a mistake on that one point because it's important that the world knows how the the hate and bile spewing from you and your army have created a tolerance of murder and violence against anyone who is percieved as an enemy.

We aren't sure exactly what we've posted that creates "a tolerance for murder and violence". Indeed, we posted the information about Fox's report on the threats while deborah was still denying it. We'll have to discuss the matter with our "army".

I am glad to admit a technical error.

Guffaw. A technical error = not telling the truth about an entire segment of the program.

However, it does not diminish the point of my post which is correct in every other aspect.

Yeah, like the phony charge that Greta was trying to connect Michael Schiavo in a "conspiracy"? That was correct as well? Right.

3/30 9:36 pm: Deborah's article still claims that these threats were not discussed on Greta's program. The falsehoods still stand.

3/31 12:53 pm: Deborah, who said she would make a retraction if she were wrong, has still not done so. The false article stands uncorrected.

3/31 5:06 pm: Now we find that deborah has erased our post with a link to the video that she claimed never aired, and has erased her message where she admitted a "mistake" and a "technical error". And since the original article stands uncorrected, she lied again in saying she would make a retraction. There could be no more damning evidence of hypocritical dishonesty and deceit than deborah's desperate attempts to persist in a lie. Her word is worthless.

3/31 5:15 pm: We post the following:

How interesting. Deborah erases my message that links to video of the discussion she claims never aired, and erases her reply to that message where she admits she was wrong. Meanwhile, deborah leaves her original article--now proven false--uncorrected. Dishonesty exemplified.

3/31 9:15 pm: Deborah has erased our messages again, and is finally shamed into making an addendum to her article:

I have been informed that the threats to Scott Schiavo's family in Philadelphia were in fact reported briefly by Greta Van Susteran on 3/29/05.I apologize for that mistake...

Finally, a grudging, if inaccurate ("reported briefly"??? watch the video, deb!) stab at a correction. And it only took nearly two full days and about a half-dozen (quickly deleted) messages to humiliate the hound into admitting a mistake. All in a day's work.
