The Path to Perfidy

There are Fox haters all around, with the Outfoxed gals leading the pack. But which one told The Lie of the Week? With J$P Video!

Time again for our latest pickings from the Fox haters' Grapevine, where all the branches have thorns, and the grapes are always sour. When you explore the echo chamber of the FNC bashers, there is always a cornucopia of absurdity to select from. Case in point, published on September 9 at 6:45 am:
the senate released detailed information stating that iraq had no involvement with al-qaeda... on the fox news website, of course, it's nowhere to be found. it's not even that fox news have [sic] reported this and downplayed it, they've just chosen not to report it at all. ironic that this mouthpiece of america routinely uses stalinist techniques to suppress news that it doesn't like.

Posted on the fox news website on September 8 and still there:

It was even a featured story on the front page. But truth doesn't matter to the haters, particularly when we're talking about the premier Fox bashers, the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed cabal). We have documented repeatedly their selective outrage and fastidious cherry-picking of what they do and do not tell their credulous followers. Donna loves to bark "unfair and unbalanced" when, say, Bill Hemmer interviews a Republican Senator because that proves that he only offers a "one-sided opinion". But then there's this:

Yes, Mr Hemmer interviews Democrat senators and gets "one-sided opinions" from them as well. But Donna and the newspups handle that a bit differently. They didn't complain in either case that Fox was being "one-sided--in fact, they never even mentioned the Wednesday interview with Sen Biden, or the Thursday one with Boxer. (What the gullible don't know won't hurt them.) Another bogus bulletin comes from bowser Judy:
Neil Cavuto based a segment of "Cavuto on Business" Saturday (September 9, 2006) on the claim that Democrats are waging "full-on class warfare in the mid-term elections"...

Note the carefully placed quote marks and what is not inside them, and then see the truth [QuickTime video]:

Never once does Mr Cavuto claim "the Democrats" are waging anything. Judy based an entire article on something he didn't say. Doctoring quotes is an old staple with the doggies, but when all else fails, they can always fall back on their stock-in-trade. Here is little Janie with an extraordinary example of fevered fabrication. Brit Hume mentioned a plan to "Google bomb" ABC's The Path to 9/11 as one of his GrapeVine items. Unable to work up any sort of rational objection to reporting this news, Janie takes a different tack:
...rather than addressing the problems with the film, Hume explained to his viewers a plan amongst Democratic bloggers (aka "the enemy") to "Google Bomb" the film, without even attempting to address the controversy the film has launched itself.... Instead of addressing the problem - the inaccuracies in the movie itself... Hume chose not to mention any of this...

We never cease to be amazed at how brazenly the hounds will tell lies that are so easily refuted, with the proof of their deception publicly available on the internet for everyone to see. Hume did address "the problems with the film", and ran a full report on the "inaccuracies". Here is a montage of that report, which came just before the "Google bomb" item so meticulously cherry-picked by Janie [QuickTime video]:

What's more, video of the entire, unedited piece is sitting in plain view, right on the foxnews.com website! A falseshood this flagrant and perfidious cannot help but be The Lie of the Week.
