Alliance for Ignorance

The Outfoxed gals stack up lies like Home Depot piles up lumber. But nothing can top arrogant stupidity. With J$P Video! Updated!

The spin is out of control! The Fox haters have gone stark staring bananas. It's like they don't even care any more if they tell the truth, or how stoopid they look when they get caught. If you doubt that, let's pay another visit to the kook kennel, home of the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed cabal). It's just one thing after another. For example, the ports. The newsmutts are hyperventilating about John Gibson:
Gibson hosts guests to cheerlead Dubai Ports World deal...Finally, 30-some minutes into the show we heard from someone - Rep. J. D. Hayworth (R-AZ) - who says we shouldn't say no to the deal, we should say hell no.

Is newspoodle chrish telling the truth? Don't be silly. Before Hayworth's interview, there was this:
But some things are off the table. [The UAE] can't have the contract to guard the borders. They can't have the contract to run the TSA. They can't have the contract to guard Fort Knox.... The administration can put lipstick on this if they want to, and many Bush supporters may rally to the president. But for lots of other Bush supporters this deal will remain just plain dumb.

Yes, it was the nightly commentary from the "cheerleader" himself, John Gibson. Now why lie about something that anyone can disprove with just a click of the mouse? For that matter, why lie about Iraq coverage? You'll have to ask chrish again:
The really big news this morning was the bombing of the Shite mosque in Najaf – an incident which generated damage to Sunni mosques and the murder of six Sunni Imams. You’d think that Fox would have something about this; but it was ignored until about 12:30

We only checked the 10:00 am hour, but that was enough. At 10:09 am:

This came after the Bill Kristol interview that chrish includes in her article, so it's part of the time frame. And then, at 10:31 am:

Oops. That's twice. Does that count as one lie or two? You be the judge. But this is certainly a completely separate fabrication:
The 9 to 1 segment of Fox News Live is, by and large uneventful as it consists of endless repetitions of the day’s news cycle.... Osama Bin Laden was the featured player this morning [2/20], as his image, along with the chyron relating to the newest tape, appeared as the preview for the next segment at every commercial break.

Reality check #1 [QuickTime video clip]:

Uh-oh. Let's try reality check #2 [QuickTime video clip]:

And there were more, but we'll spare you any further promos or teasers. Now who is responsible for this lie? By an amazing coincidence, it's newspup chrish again!

But while it is rewarding to catch the Fox haters in a lie (err, make that three lies, or four, depending on how you're counting), there's something special about watching them self-destruct from their own ignorance and conceit. And this week's prize winner in that category has to be none other than Marie-Therese. The air must be thin when she is on such a high horse:
Early on, O'Reilly lamented that a "far-left outfit comes in - Democracy Alliance - I don't even know what that is - they don't even have a phone number or address." Wrong, Bill! The actual name of the group is ALLIANCE FOR DEMOCRACY.... O'Reilly got his information from Brian Maloney who go his information from Human Events Online, which identified the name of the progressive fund as "Democracy Alliance." The Washington Post article cited above also used the same name. However, I was able to quickly find the correct name with a couple of Google searches.

M-T wants you believe that O'Reilly, Human Events, and the Washington Post all got it wrong, but she Googled for two minutes and was able to out-report everyone else. There's just one slight problem: The Democracy Alliance and the Alliance for Democracy are two entirely different organizations! As one of the newspooch readers pointed out, Democracy Alliance was created just last year. AfD has been around since the 1990s. One is a fund-raising group; the other a grassroots political organization. One is headed by Rob Stein, as reported in the National Journal, the Daily Kos, and elsewhere. The other has nothing to do with Mr Stein at all.

It's the hubris that is most amusing. M-T ends her great expose with:
Just what we needed: Another well-researched, clear-headed, factual news report

Hahahaha! Like she would know. The newsliars, once again hoisted on their own petard.

Update: It was only about two hours after M-T posted her arrogant attack on Bill O'Reilly that one of her readers posted the facts: The Democracy Alliance and The Alliance for Democracy are not the same outfit. Immediately the kennel-dwellers reacted as they usual do to someone who challenges the hounds with truth: they attack the truth teller! (And note how their paranoia convinces them that anyone who dares to criticize the curs has to be Johnny Dollar!)
  • Hey Dollar (or excuse me tadeusz) are you still going to stand behind that statement?
  • If dollar posts something on his [pathetic joke of a] blog and no one ever reads it, does it really count as a post?
  • Now you want to bring up a lot of other organizations which you didn't give reference to in your first comment or still haven't except to name. So why don't you just crawl back over to your pathetic little blog?
  • Care to back up your claims? Or are you spewing more [expletive deleted]? [Expletive deleted], you little [expletive deleted].

Well, as it turns out, the Alliance for Democracy did not take kindly to being misrepresented by M-T, and they told her so. Result: a correction is finally posted, nearly a full day after the error was pointed out and ignored. For Marie-Therese, our thanks and approval for doing the right thing, this time. Even though you didn't bother to correct yourself after the error was exposed on your own site. Even though it took an irate phone call to get you to admit your blunder. Even though you then erased from the original post your embarrassing wisecracks about O'Reilly's research ability. But for the credulous lemmings who defended her misinformation with their usual tactic of attacking the messenger: hahahahaha! Dupes.
